SPECIAL THANKS FROM SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Dear Del Mar College Foundation, (July 10, 2007)

I am so pleased and honored to receive the Instituto De Cultura Hispanic De Corpus Christi Scholarship for the Academic Year of 2007-2008. This scholarship is truly a blessing for me because it will provide me with the ability to complete my final year of education at Del Mar College. I will be the first in my mother's family to graduate from college and I plan to continue to impress them by going on to a four-year university to earn a bachelor's degree. I have worked extremely hard in the many years that I have been attending Del Mar College part-time and in the last two years I have been fortunate enough to have a husband who helped me through the financial aid process and proved to me that there was hope in achieving my educational goals. Because of the financial assistance given to me by the Del Mar College Foundation and my husband's loving support I am so much closer to my diplomas. My experience as a full-time student has been challenging and wonderful in so many ways. I was a good student at W.B. Ray High School but at Del Mar I have really been able to excel and even surpass my father's achievements at Del Mar. The honors program and my two majors have given me the confidence to go beyond my own expectations. It is my great pleasure to represent Del Mar College as a student and in the future as an alumnus.
